United Nations Development Programme is a specialized welfare programme of United Nations working for the uplift and development of all its member countries in the world. It mainly forwards co-operation, adherence, grant and support to the developing and least developed countries of the world to accomplish millennium development goal. UNDP attempts on some specialized global issues like HIV/ AIDS, poverty reduction, environmental crisis, and deficit of food etc and tries for its enhancement. It is voluntarily funded by its member nations to carry out its projects. It prepares annual report showing human development index so that quality of life in the concerned country can come out. UNDP is headquartered in New York where through regular meetings decisions are taken. The organisation is run and advocated by its secretary general along with committee members. But the secretary general is liable in executing its functions. The present secretary general is Kemal Dervis who advocates the organisation and supervises the improvement in the work. The key policy of U.N.D.P. is its appointment of good will ambassadors who will propagate the developmental works and welfare steps of UNDP that it has taken for the enhancement of the least developed people and will disseminate awareness among the people to lead healthy life.
