17-year-old US golfer asks servicemen for prom date

London, May 2 (ANI): Lexi Thompson, the American teenager who finished as runner-up at the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic on Sunday, has become an internet sensation after she posted a video offering to take a military man on a prom date next month in Florida.

She or rather her sponsors will pay for flights from anywhere in the world for the lucky guy who must be between 18 and 20, the Mirror reported.

If a man fits the criteria, he has to post his picture on her YouTube page and write a brief explanation why he should be her date.

However, the 17-year-old, who is the youngest player to win on the LPGA Tour last year, seeking a blind date with a soldier, has even attracted its fair share of criticism in the USA. (ANI)
