Moscow, April 16 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Iran has released two Russians detained in the country. No specific charges were filed by Tehran and the reasons behind their detention were not explained.
The health of the Russians -- employees of Kazakh-Iranian gold-mining joint venture ZarKuh -- was "unsatisfactory", the Russian foreign ministry said Monday.
They were held in Iran April 5.
"No specific charges were filed against the detainees, and the reasons behind their April 5 apprehension are yet to be clarified," the ministry said.
"We expect the Iranian authorities to give thorough explanations about this incident," it said.
