London, Apr 16(ANI): British driver Janson Button has admitted that the team's pitstop eeror had denied him the chance of beating Nico Rosberg in the Chinese Grand Prix after a mechanic had difficulty changing his left rear tyre.
"There can't be many mistakes if you want to compete for a championship. You must consistently fight for points. I threw away a lot in Malaysia and hopefully that will be the only time I do that. We possibly lost more points in this race, although I can't know that for sure, but I would have had a good crack at Nico," The Sun quoted Button, as saying.
"We've come a long way with our pitstops but we made a mistake and must make sure we don't make that one again," he added.
Button had to wait in the pit for nine seconds, which dropped him further behind Rosberg, who had started on pole.
The move is the latest in a series of mistakes made by the team after Lewis Hamilton suffered three glitches in Malaysia. (ANI)
