Ottawa, April 6 (IANS) Canada added 82,300 new jobs in March, bringing the country's unemployment rate down 0.2 percentage points to 7.2 percent, Statistics Canada announced.
It was Canada's best single month result since September following four months of little change and the number far exceeded economists' forecast of 10,000 new positions for the past month, said the agency Thursday.
Of the total new positions added last month, full-time jobs make up 70,000, Xinhua cited the agency as saying.
An increase of employment was recorded in the industries, health care and social assistance, information, culture and recreation, public administration, natural resources, manufacturing, and construction, but a decline was reported in the educational services.
