London, Feb 17(ANI): Uruguay President Jose Mujica has claimed that his fellow countryman and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez isn't a racist.
Mujica believes that the whole racism saga involving Suarez and Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has been over hyped, The Telegraph reports.
He told Uruguayan radio station M24: "There is solidarity with Suarez. Suarez is not a racist and never will be."
In another interview with the weekly newspaper Busqueda, Mujica said that the racism row had been exaggerated.
"There is nothing racist," he said.
He added: "Some do not understand Suarez and did not study diplomatic protocol. He's a young genius on the football field, (and) humble "uarez faced more criticism for not shaking Evra's hand in last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford. (ANI)
