Washington, Apr 14(ANI): The US has indicated its willingness to discuss and find a middle path to address issues raised by the Pakistan Parliament following the completion of its review of ties with the US.
US State Department spokesperson Mark Toner said that his country wants to discuss the breadth of issues raised in the Pakistan's parliamentary review, The Express Tribune reports.
Toner said that the US would discuss issues involving civilian and counterterrorism cooperation with the Pakistan Government, but he refused to discuss the drone strikes issue.
His comment came after a joint session of the Pakistan parliament unanimously approved new recommendations on ties with the US.
The new recommendations were passed by the Parliamentary Committee on the National Security (PCNS) and included a host of new demands such as an immediate end to US drone strikes and prohibiting the use of Pakistan's airspace for transportation of arms and ammunition to Afghanistan.
But it leaves the decision of deciding the fate of sealed NATO supply lines to the Pakistan People's Party led government, which will have to absorb the fallout by itself. (ANI)
