Patna, Apr 14 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Saturday expressed relief over reconciliation on anti-migrant rhetoric made by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray.
Modi told reporters here that he welcomed the truce between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Raj Thackeray.
"I believe that Raj Thackeray has taken the right stand now and we welcome it because there is no fight between the two states, Maharashtra and Bihar. I am happy that the stand he has taken now would improve the relations between the two states," said Modi.
Attending an event to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar, Modi further said there was no fight between people of Maharashtra and Bihar.
"Today it is Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, and Ambedkar was born in Maharashtra and celebrations are held in Bihar. There is no fight between the Maharashtrians and the Biharis and I believe that any person can go anywhere in this country," he added.
Raj Thackeray had on Thursday dared Nitish Kumar to celebrate "Bihar Divas" in Mumbai.
In response to Thackeray's statement, Nitish Kumar had said that it was beyond his thinking as to why his proposed visit to Mumbai to celebrate 'Bihar Divas' would hurt the emotions of people of Maharashtra. (ANI)
