A great vocalist without any formal training and teaching Kishore Kumar has been one of the most natural talented singers in the Indian Hindi film industry. A director, music director, singer, producer whatever role he played, he did justice to his work. This was his uniqueness that kept him ahead of his contemporaries. Kishore Kumar was born in 1929 in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh but later on shifted to Mumbai to make his career. Along with singing, he ventured into acting in many films and emerged as a versatile human being blessed with numerous and varied qualities. Besides singing Hindi songs, Kishore Kumar has sung in various languages, like Bengali, Oriya, Telugu, Kannada, Assamese and many more. The Hindi movie Aradhana proved a turning point in the life of Kishore Kumar as the immense success of this film established him as the solo singer. The smash hits of ?Roop Tera Mastana? and ?Mere Sapno ki Rani? of the movie earned him maiden Filmfare award in 1969. Kishore Kumar sang for all leading actors of Bollywood in 1970s and thus rose to the pinnacle of success by his high pitch tone and innovative way of singing. Kishore Kumar was not only a prolific singer but was really unique for his romantic way of articulating the song. He took his last breath in 1987 but his songs will be eternally vibrating in the ears of his fans and admirers.
