New Delhi, Mar.13 (ANI): United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator and UN Under Secretary General Helen Clark will visit India from March 14 to 17.
This would be Clark's second visit to India as UNDP Administrator.
During her visit, Ms. Clark is expected to call on External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna, a ministry release said.
Clark would also meet with Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur on March 14. Following their meeting, Clark and Kaur would witness the signing of a 'Partnership Framework Agreement' between Government of India and the UNDP.
The agreement, the first ever between Government of India and UNDP, provides a structured framework for collaboration between India and UNDP, with the main focus on enhancing South-South cooperation (SSC) in support of other developing countries.
The overall objective of the Agreement is strengthen the cooperation between the Parties for South-South cooperation (including triangular partnership) by leveraging India's development experience, technologies, technical expertise and training and UNDP's global development network and finance to further the cause of sustainable development in other developing countries.
During the visit, Clark will also participate in the UNDP regional cluster meeting of resident coordinators, resident representatives and country directors and deliver the Lakdawala Memorial lecture. (ANI)
