ILO to organise 98th annual conference in June

The International Labour Organization (ILO) will hold its annual International Labour Conference in Geneva from 3-19 June and will discuss a global response to the impact of the economic and financial crisis on working women and men.


The Conference will include an ILO Summit on the Global Jobs Crisis with the participation of selected Heads of State and Government, and a number of high level panels involving ministers, senior policy-makers, major representatives of business and labour, regional and international institutions and other global opinion leaders, including government, worker and employer representatives from the ILOs.

A total of 182 member States will discuss a new draft labour standard on HIV/AIDS and the world of work, the state of gender equality in the context of globalization and the ILOs draft Programme and Budget for 2010-11.

The meeting will be held at the United Nations Office at Geneva in the Palais des Nations, Switzerland. For more details on the ILO Conference programme, see the ILO web site www.ilo.org.
