A street man, a victim of terror

The terror strike on consecutive days in two cities: Bangalore and Ahmedabad, which has claimed 50 lives and left scores injured was certainly intended to disrupt normalcy and communal harmony. But it is sad that our political leaders are playing blame game in their usual fashion, and we as common man keep losing our lives. As usual, security has been beefed up in all major cities across the country but after Mumbai, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Lucknow, Jaipur and now in two of the country’s commercial centres, the terrorists have flaunted that they can strike anywhere with impunity. And our government both in State and Centre with a time consuming judicial system and an impotent intelligence agency can only rest to access their failure at the end of each blast with no concrete step to deal the menace.

We as citizen of India, a common man on the street, know that together we can eliminate terrorism no matter how brutal it is. All anti-national sentiments should be eliminated at the root but at the same time our government, the leaders who govern the nation should open up their mind coming out of their high security to address the grievance of the masses. Time has come to take some concrete actions instead of announcing relief or compensation to the victims or their families. Leaders can’t just appeal for peace and tranquillity which we have been doing ever since; we as citizens of the country irrespective of caste, creed, religion and region better understand our duty but that’s not the way out.

Most of the blasts in the last couple of years occurred in the similar fashion locally made bomb and bombs tied in cycle or motor vehicle parked in busy and crowded market places. A highly coordinated and planned approach by the terrorists leaving no clue for our intelligence to response early or we can say that our security system is not just adequately equipped. Every time we just can’t point at any foreign hand, when a domestic jihadi network is in operation giving support to Pakistan based terror outfits. Ironically, taking count of the numerous blasts occurred in different regions of the country, we are unable to bring a culprit and put him behind the bars.

No doubt, we have to deal it within ourselves; we have to create a system that can bring speedy justice to the culprit; we have to develop our intelligence and make it more competent by investing more in infrastructure and developing a well-organised approach; and the most important one is to eradicate the concept of minority and majority. Equitable development addressing gripes of all communities, their education, and employment thereby an overall development as a just society. Though it sounds utopian but at the end of the day we as humans don’t want another riot in the name of religion or community. We can't leave everything in the hands of fate. We need to write our destiny ourselves, and if necessary, erase and rewrite it for the earth's betterment, to again make it a Garden of Eden.
