Passing from across a garment shop, I noticed a gorgeous looking dress in display. I went inside the shop fascinated by the dress, and guess what? You are right... I asked the price of the dress first, but I didn't purchase it. No, not because it was costly, but because I asked them to show me more such dresses. And when I didn't find the others as good as the displayed one, I decided not to buy that one as well, as I wanted to buy my dress from a shop whose all varieties are equally good.
I prefer choosing the best among the good ones, not the good among the average ones. By now, you must have started thinking how similar yours and mine thoughts are. Dear, it’s not the case with just you and me but with almost every individual. And this is the essence of our very nature. We always crave for the best, never content with good and least agreeable for the average.
What is the definition of Best? Or rather I would ask-Who is the best? And those who are at the position of being called the best, satisfied with their 'the best' position? Are you sure they dwell with content and rest with ease?
When we stretch our arm forward to receive something, we stretch our desires too. Our wants are ever-expanding and ever-increasing. Believe it or not – They have the power to engulf the whole universe to serve their hunger. Satan had fallen due to his over-arching ambitions and later he induced the same lechery in Eve and Adam resulting in their fall as well.
Moreover, we do not judicially consider the nature of the thing or the person for whom we are falling. We fall for things we utterly don't require in actual. Nevertheless, we keep on repeating the same errors and keep on degrading ourselves fore insignificant wants.
How many of us can recall the last moment we were extremely and genuinely happy? By genuine I don't mean to measure the intensity of your laughter, true happiness can be experienced in silence as well. What I mean is- happiness unadulterated with foreign thoughts and worries.
How many times our laughter is unaccompanied with pain? When did we feel that everything is going well with us and there are no hurdles and tensions in our lives? The answer to these questions is itself an evidence to the aimlessness of our aspirations and cravings. One should be sensible enough to sort out the disparity between an uncensored desire and the faithfulness of the desire. Then only we can and we should look forward to a fairly better living.
