To provide more convenience and to give customers an alternative to book their favorite and world’s cheapest (Rs 1-lakh) car ‘Nano’, the Tata Motors has announced to start online bookings. With this, this would be the first car in India that could be booked online.
This move of Tata Motors would provide great relief to the buyers as it will save time and money of the bidders, and will also ease the pressure of Tata’s showrooms.
The booking forms will be available from April 09, the same date of booking ‘Nano’ through paper and will be closed on April 25, the closing day.
One advantage of online booking is the fee of online application that is only Rs 200 in comparison to paper booking that costs Rs 300 per form.
The payment gateway is also secure. No credit card payment is acceptable while after clicking on online payment gateway, the site goes to the third party site and applicant would have to make a payment through net banking.
For easy owning the car, Tata Motors has also tied up with 15 non-banking finance companies and banks through which customer can book the car by paying just Rs 2,999 as processing fee, while in traditional booking, customers would have to pay nearly Rs 70,000 as an initial amount.
Tata can collect a whooping amount through the booking of Nano as it is expected that as much as 3 to 4 times more applications may come for booking while Tata has announced to supply only 1,00,000 in the first phase and the remaining applicants will get the car thereafter.
