In a latest video sent to BBC, an Al Qaida leader has warned India for more Mumbai like strikes, if ever India mulls to strike Pakistan. BBC said that it has received a 20-minute video with a direct threat message to India.
Al- Qaida leader Sheikh Mustafa Abu Yazid, earlier believed to have been killed by a US air strike, warned India of mujahideen attack in all major economic centres.
"India should know that it will have to pay a heavy price if it attacks Pakistan. The Mujahideen will sunder your armies into the ground, like they did to the Russians in Afghanistan," Yazid said in the video sent to BBC.
"We will bring mujahideen and suicide attackers from all over the Muslim world to confront you (India). They will target your economic centers and raze them to the ground," the Daily Times quoted Yazid, as saying.
The video also attacked the Pakistan Government for succumbing to international pressure and banning militant outfits after the Mumbai attacks. Yazid also called on the people of Pakistan to overthrow the government.
Yazid is one of the frontline Al-Qaeda commanders who operate both in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He had also claimed responsibility for the assassination of former Pak premier Benazir Bhutto. Ironically, Pakistan government officials had claimed that the commander was killed in a US drone strike in August 2008.
