Because of renewed interest in Mahatma Gandhi and his ideas, "The Life, Experiments and Philosophy of Gandhi" were discussed in a seminar at Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in Grass Valley (California, USA).
Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed lead the seminar, discussing Gandhi's philosophy of non-violence, his commitment to world peace, his work for the upliftment of the downtrodden, etc. According to Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, there is a considerable interest about Gandhi in United States of America and many people revere him as one of the greatest moral, political, and peace leaders of the twentieth century.
Swami Pranavananda Saraswati, Associate Director of the Farm, gave the introduction, while Zed spoke about various topics related to Gandhi and answered the participant questions.
Mahatma Gandhi was one of the few men in history to fight simultaneously on moral, religious, political, social, economic, and cultural fronts, and he continues to be widely revered as one of the greatest moral and political leaders of the twentieth century.
Founded in 1971, this Yoga Farm, which calls itself an "oasis of peace in a chaotic world", attracts seekers of peace, health and enlightenment from all over the world. Swami Sitaramananda, an internationally respected yoga authority and a Saraswati sannyasin, is the director.
