London judge awards sentence to 5 students

July 27: Five students have been sentenced to jail today in London for being found guilty for possessing the articles with terrorist overtones designed to incite to become a jihadi.

Police also found the material giving instructions about bomb-making and when searched the computer of one student found the US military guide with the knowledge of know how of explosive devices and suicide bombing downloaded from the internet.

Counter terrorism division official told that students had gathered the information purported to encourage themselves or others to take the path of martyrdom and violence. London judge Peter Beaumount said that they all are intoxicated with the extremist propaganda. The material was overloaded with the theme of martyrdom and suicide bombings and designed to encourage people to die in the process of destroying the targets set by some leadership.

Police official told that they were planning to go either Pakistan or Afghanistan for training camps to perform terrorist acts.

Revelation was made when Raja informed his parents through a note that he is leaving to fight for Islam and will meet in heaven. But he returned after his parents pleading to return to home.

He was enamored by the students on the Internet and the terrorist propaganda. ACP Peter Clarke said that it was not adolescent fantasy but these boys have decided to go to Pakistan to become jihadis.

Mohammad Raja, 19 was sentenced to two years youth detention while out of other four, Awab Iqbal from Bradford and Aitzaz Zafar were awarded two years imprisonment.

Usman Malik 21 got three years sentence and Akbar Butt was sentenced 27 months imprisonment.
