Jammu, Dec 10 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will arrive here Dec 14 to campaign for the Congress candidates in the Jammu region, a party official said here Wednesday.
Singh is coming ahead of the last two phases of the seven-phased elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The sixth phase is Dec 17 while the seventh and final phase is Dec 24.
'The prime minister will address election rallies in Srinagar and Jammu on December 14,' Pradesh Congress Committee chief Saif-ud-Din Soz told a group of newsmen here Wednesday.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi and All India Congress Committee General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had come here to campaign ahead of the third and fourth phases, respectively. They had exhorted the voters to give a clear majority to their party so that it could work unhindered and fulfil all the promises.
The Congress camp here was buoyed after the party's victory in three states - Delhi, Rajasthan and Mizoram.
'We will repeat this trend here in Jammu and Kashmir too. Congress will form the government,' said Soz.
Elections in the sixth phase will include six seats in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts of Jammu region.
