Lucknow, Dec 9 (IANS) A 70-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh Tuesday, police said.
'The incident was reported from Panwari village Tuesday morning. We have begun investigations,' Mahoba police chief R.P. Singh told IANS on phone. The district is about 250 km from state capital Lucknow.
The four accused also shot at the woman's son and daughter-in-law when they tried to save her. The couple received bullet injuries on their legs and were taken to Jhansi for treatment, Singh added.
