July 13: Vishwa Hindi sammelan(World Hindi Conference) inaugurates today at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Hindi scholars, poets and writers are gathering to attend the conference. The Conference will go on July 13 to July 15.
The Conference is held in every four years. Seven World Hindi conferences had been held in all over the world so far. First Vishwa Hindi Sammelan was organised under the leadership of Indira Gandhi, the presented Prime Minister. The primary object of this meet is to show the significance of Hindi before the world as a global language, so that it can achieve the right place and can be an official language of international body of United Nations. According to ‘Comrie’ survey (held in 1998), Hindi is the second most spoken language of the world after Chinese.
It is being organized by Indian government with the cooperation of ministry of external affairs and Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, New York. Several Hindi organisations based in US are also voluntarily contributing to the phenomenon.
New Delhi has been asking to recognise Hindi as an official language of United Nations. This event goes one more step in this direction.
There will be deliberation on the growth of Hindi in this meet. Conference has been held to think over some issues like how to make Hindi more popular in other necessary fields such as information technology and Bollywood that is loosing its charm for avoiding correct Hindi.
New York has been chosen this time as a host place assuming the large number of Non- Resident Indians. Vishwa Hindi Diwas had also been celebrated earlier this year in USA at February 09.
Ministry of external affairs of state has launched the website, vishwahindi.com some times ago at Indian consulate in New York. Main objective of the conference is to establish Hindi on world stage. The award function will go on at the end of conference.

November 26, 2007 at 12:00 AMIam a Non-Hindi Person, but out of my own interest I did Ph.D. in Hindi and I am putting my best for spread of Hindi Language, Literature and Functional Hindi in Andhra Pradesh.
I am very much confident that among all the Indian Languages Hindi alone can become Universal Language. Hindi will also become the Language of the UNO, why becasue Hindi is being spoken by large number of people in a wide spread area.

July 19, 2007 at 12:00 AMI could found wonderful work done in USA on promotion of Hindi for entire world community.For last two to three conf I tried to participate in the 7 as well as 8th world Hindi Samelan. But due to one or other reason I could not contribute and participate.
I will be thankful to you If you include my name in the mailing list !!! and inform me latest developments.
If I will get information in proper time I will certainly participate in 9 world Hindi Samelan ?
I am also hopeful the that besides the teachers the Scientists, doctors and researchers in latest development should be contacted for latest development in Hindi as well as availability of information in Hindi ( National Languge in India).

Hindi has become a spoken language .When in movie you see no written words of hindi in TV prgramme no hindi words apear even seriel name sare in english. slowing people will forget how hindi alpha looks like, Indian govt is all out to distroy the ancient indian culture and language. They can promise 500 croers for URDU and TV station 100,000 teachers no funds for HINDI/. Even in NY usa consulate promte hindi by having A KAVI sammelan Seems they have no idea how a language need to be promoted . Too bad with all inteligence in Hindus and in india they have no pride in culture .GOVT has no funds to make india great .
