Bangalore/Cuttack, Nov 24 (ANI): India grabbed crucial wickets in the final overs to win the fourth one-dayer against England by 19 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method on to take an unbeatable 4-0 lead in the seven-match series on Sunday.
India's left-arm bowler Zaheer Khan dismissed Owais Shah for 72 and fast bowler Ishant Sharma sent back Andrew Flintoff for 41 in successive overs in the final power play to derail England's spectacular chase of a revised target of 198.
The pair had put on 82 off just 48 balls for the fourth wicket after a slow start by the tourists in the rain-affected day-night match.
"It's not that we lost the game, India played fantastic. They are playing real cricket without any fail, they played with confidence after beating Australia and then obviously convincingly they have beaten us. I just think we need to make sure that this series remains competitive," said England captain Kevin Pietersen.
Opener Virender Sehwag lashed his second successive half-century (69) and shared in a 79-run second-wicket stand with Gautam Gambhir (40) to give India a solid start.
He said India is in quest of becoming number one.
"We are taking match by match, our coach told that we finish our series and we can start another one and last three games, we feel, we want to win that two matches or we win another series, so we are going match by match. We have to win every match," he added.
Meanwhile, preparations have begun for the fifth one-dayer that is scheduled to be played at Cuttack on November 26.
Authorities at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack said that the tickets have been sold out for a capacity of 35,000 seats.
The old Barabati stadium has been renovated and new commentary and press boxes have been put in place ahead of the match. (ANI)
