Ghaziabad, Nov 23 (IANS) A hotelier was shot dead by five armed men in a town in western Uttar Pradesh Sunday, the police said.
Shamim Chaudhary, a resident of Gulaothi town of Bulandshahr district who owned a hotel in that town, was shot dead by five armed men as he was getting his car repaired Sunday, the police said.
'Chaudhary had told the police that he feared for his life,' Shamim Chaudhary's brother Muiddin said.
'Five armed men barged into the workshop where Chaudhary was getting his car repaired and shot at him. He was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries,' Senior Superintendent of Police Bulandshahr Raj Kumar told IANS.
The police have registered a case against the five men, who are absconding.
