Ahmedabad, Nov 18 (IANS) In a campaign to check ticketless travel, the Western Railway detected 13,000 cases last month and realised penalties worth Rs.4.65 million.
'Our campaign was meant to create awareness among the people that ticketless travel does not pay,' Divisional Railway Manager Rajiv Mishra said.
The drive was initiated on routes like Ahmedabad-Vatva; Palanpur-Gandhidham; Mehsana-Viramgam and at stations like Ahmedabad, Maninagar, Gandhidham, Mehsana and Palanpur stations.
