July 05: Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim has surpassed Microsoft founder Bill Gates from the top seat of the world’s richest person, according to a reputed Mexican Financial Website Sentido Commun, which is tracking this business tycoon’s wealth.
Carlos, the owner of Mexico’s largest fixed-line telephone company along with Telmex and Telcel, the other two big telecom companies with America Movil, the biggest mobile operator in Maxico has surpassed, the present top seeded affluent, Bill Gates, the supremo and Founder of Microsoft Corporation Ltd., a software firm.
A reputed Mexican Financial website, Sentido Commun has estimated the total value of Slim and declared Carlos Slim, the richest person of the globe having total fortune of worth $67.8 billion. If this estimated cost is absolutely accurate, Carlos Slim will be seated on the top position as the fresh listing of the billionaires will published in Forbes, in its September issue.
The booming price of America Movil in the stock market is liable behind his boosted fortune of Slim. Bill Gates is now at the second position worth approximately $59 billion at the same time of estimating. Warren Buffet is now on the third position with worth $53 billion.
Forbes magazine reported on its Web site in April that Slim had crossed former US investor Warren Buffett to achieve second position in the list that is now on the top. Carlos has also some additional business like construction, music, restaurants and cigarettes. The Slim’s total fortune is 8 percent of the Gross Domestic Product, GDP of Mexico.
Carlos Slim, 67, is the son of a Lebanese immigrant and owned his business from his father. Now, his sons and son-in-law are looking after the day-to-day operations of his companies.
