Violent clashes killed 16 in Lal Masjid, military ready for rescue

Islamabad, Wed, 04 Jul 2007 NI Wire

July 04: Islamabad based famous Lal masjid (red mosque) is again in limelight. This is because of conflict held between the security forces and the students of the madrassa (Islamic school). This mosque is known as for its Islamic conservativeness. The clashes held yesterday when the military forces tried to increase the barricading radicals covering some area of the mosque. The students began to protest it and last took a violent action. They began to throw stones over police forces and some guns also began to fire that hit a police man. In this response the police sealed the area surrounding mosque. Curfew had been imposed in this area yesterday for indefinite time period.

It’s a harsh period for Parvez Mussarraf as he is in deep deep trouble because if this conflict turns in communal matter, the whole country will oppose him, on the other hand if he doesn’t take action, the matter will be worst as it is assumed that there are almost 40 fighters from Afghanistan has been entered in the Jamia hafsa, the centre of the mosque. There could be more than two thousand students including girls are present inside the mosque. The forces are facing some problem to confront then because of the presence of the girls. Army forces have already declared the deadline, but time limit of the dead line is about to complete.

Pakistan president is very serious in this matter and has decided to take action with bullets if it becomes necessary. Thought the religious guru has already tried to solve the problem, but no inference exists. According to confirm sources, the Lal Masjid administration would be in a better position to confront security forces after putting the girl students holding up in safe locations inside madrassa.

The students of masjid are asking to impalement the Islamic rule in the country, while Mussarraf is now in mood to face this problem by force. “There are more than 40 well trained warriors inside the mosque who are quite capable to handle this sort of situation and they are trying to mislead the madrassa student, because the students are innocent and impractical.”, official sources told.
