Jet Airways, keeping its tradition of working with children, celebrated Children’s Day with children from NGOs Aseema, Magic Bus and Save The Children. The airline simultaneously launched its enhanced Jet Kids programme.
At Jet Airways, the Children’s Day celebrations began with a warm welcome by the cabin crew who led the children into a specially created colourful party zone at the airline's Hangar. Here, all were greeted with much merriment, dancing to music from the latest Bollywood hits, clown shows, mobile jugglers attractions like face painting, games with prizes to be won. The highlight of the day's event was a visit onboard Jet Airways' Boeing 737-800 aircraft, where they were greeted by Jet Airways' smart cockpit crew.
A special onboard film show was compiled from the airline’s ongoing in - flight film festival, the World of Wonders. Film favourites like Akbar and Birbal, Dora, all translated in Hindi, were viewed by the children on each of their individual screens.
The young guests were jointly invited by Jet Airways and GE Volunteers. Refreshments were served courtesy Taj SATS.
The children were introduced to the world of aviation with a child-friendly audio–visual presentation on aeroplanes made by the airlines in-house engineering team.
Coinciding with Children’s Day, Jet Airways launched their enhanced Jet Kids programme to recognise and celebrate its young passengers. Jet Airways' airport teams at six metro cities inaugurated their first dedicated check-in counters for young travellers. Special Jet Kids branding, a family check- in area, festooned with colour coded balloons displaying the airline colours blue yellow and orange, and path finding signage were all features of this enhancement. To generate excitement, kids were encouraged to check-in for their families travelling with them.
Families requesting child meals for their wards travelling on Jet Airways flights will be served specially prepared meals.
Jet Kids is Jet Airways’ special programme for its younger patrons, children between the ages of 2-12 years.
