Rajkot, Nov 14 (IANS) After India got off to a flying start, winning the first One Day International against England by 158 runs, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said the visitors were unlucky to be at the receiving end of a Yuvraj Singh special.
Yuvraj pulverised England attack blasting 138 off 78 balls that saw India post a massive 387 runs and then the bowlers dismissed the visitors for 229 runs.
'Our openers gave us a fantastic start. And then Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh took the attack to the opposition. Yujraj was brilliant and when he is in that kind of form, the opposition cannot do much,' Dhoni said.
'The bowlers did an excellent job. The match went completely in our favour.'
He said that the wicket looked like it will help seamers at the start.
'We thought there was something for the seamers. The odd ball was taking off. But then it turned out be a good batting wicket.'
England captain Kevin Pietersen admitted they had no answers to the quality of cricket dished out by the hosts.
'They played super cricket. Sehwag and Gambhir gave them a good start and then Yurvaj played that knock. When he touches the ball, it goes for four and when he touches the ball bit harder, it goes for a six.'
'There are six games left for us in the series. So we have enough time to regroup and improve the areas where we went wrong.'
