On June 8, 2008 Government has started a legal process to release Sheikh Hasina, a former Prime Mister of Bangladesh and president of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), who was detained for 11 months with the charge of corruption.

Under constant pressure from AL, a couple of days ago government constitute a Medical board to check-up the health condition of Sheikh Hasina and detained former premier Begume Khaleda Zia and her two imprisoned sons, who are also detained for corruption charge. Medical Board examined all and stated that Sheikh Hasina should be sent to abroad for better treatment.

In relation to this opinion of Hasina, on June 8, lawyers of Sheikh Hasina went to the courts-concerned with fresh petition. Court took the petition in consideration and ordered to exempt Sheikh Hasina’s personal appearance in court. But legal expert said the procedure of the cases could be proceed farther but in absence of Sheikh Hasina Judgment could not be given as of law.
