Tata Consultancy Service (TCS) as a part of Tata Group is now one of the 10 most profitable companies in the world according to the global magazine Business Week. The magazine that has listed out top most 100 IT companies in the world also placed TCS in the 23 rd position.
TCS has started its operation in 1968 and is now in the forefront of providing various services including information technology, consulting, BPO and a variety of IT infrastructure and enterprise solution. Now it has branches in more than 20 cities of Indian and in 47 countries world wide.
TCS with annual revenue over US $ 4.3 billion, as per the first quarter of this fiscal year, is Asia’s largest IT firm and with a return of equity of 46 per cent it is going to represent India in global IT service arena.
Even if Wipro and Infosys are also in the front row of global IT sector, the growth of TCS is persistent and that one can see by the number of acquisition done by the company last year. Also in terms of market capitalization TCS is among the four globally recognized IT companies with IBM, Accenture and HP.
Though TCS is involved in various services but its Global Consulting Practice, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Infrastructure Management and Assurance Services will take forward in its process of growth as far as IT services are concerned.
