Defending champion - Food Corporation of India (North Zone) and Central Secretariat were emerged winners in the Chief Minister Cup- Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) Annual Institutional Football League Championship which concluded on Tuesday at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium.
In the Senior Division, six-time champion Food Corporation of India, North Zone, regained their title when they scored a 5-4 win in the tie-breaker, after locking goalless at the end of the regulation period.
For FCI (North Zone), Ashish Pandey, Gaimlung Kamei, Manish Mehtab and Trilok Singh Bisht were successful scorers while Delhi Audit’s Rishi Kapoor, Birender Bhakuni, Neeraj Choudhary and S. Negi successfully converted spot kicks but Naresh Mann missed the target.
Earlier, in a division final Central Secretariat scored a solitary goal win over Airport Authority of India to lift the title.
The all important winning goal was scored by Dilip Bhandari in the mid session of second half proceedings.
The Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit, as chief guest gave away the prizes. Airport Authority of India Chairman – Dr. K. Ramalingam also graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. DSA President – Subhash Chopra presided over the prize distribution ceremony.
Punjabi Academy artists presented a colourful cultural programme.
