To mark the ‘Days of Iranian Culture’ in India an entertaining concert of traditional music, folk art and exhibitions is going to amuse the Delhiites on Thursday and Friday.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in collaboration with the National Museum has organised the event at National Museum Auditorium in the capital.
Culture is at best manifested in music, literature, lifestyle, painting and sculpture, theatre and film and alike. The event is an opportunity for the Delhiites to understand and feel the Iranian culture.
While the music, folk-art, and exhibitions will keep busy the audience for two days from May 01-02, the exhibitions will remain open for another day till May 03 from 10 am to 5 pm.
National museum
The National Museum, New Delhi is the prime museum in the country situated in the majestic building on the corner of Janpath and Maulana Azad Road.
The Museum was formally thrown open to the public on December 18, 1960. And it is now placed within the administrative control and fully financed by the Department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
The national museum has amalgamated various entertaining as well as informational department under one roof like the chronological display of selected art objects in the various galleries, screening of educational films related to art and culture, guided tours, gallery talks by the experts, special lectures and training programmes, facilities for photography and access to the reserve collection and library for the study have brought colossal glory to the Museum.
