Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Oct 30 (ANI): Uma Bharati's Bharatiya Janshakti Party (BJS) on Thursday offered a party ticket to Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, arrested in connection with the Malegaon blasts, to contest the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.
BJS National Secretary Inder Prajapat, while talking to reporters, said, "If she (Pragya) wishes, our party will field her from any seat in Madhya Pradesh against the BJP."
He further said that the BJS had a discussion with Pragya's lawyer in this regard and if she agrees then the party would consider fielding her against any powerful leader of the BJP.
Prajapat, while defending Pragya, said that she was "totally innocent" and it was a conspiracy to frame her with political motives and to defame the saint community.
"We hope that people's court will ultimately acquit her in the case," Prajapat added.
He also said that the BJS has offered Pragya legal aid and that Uma Bharati has already termed her arrest as a "conspiracy" and demanded a high-level probe on the issue.
On October 23, Pragya was arrested in connection with the September 29 Malegaon blasts along with Shiv Narayan Gopal Singh Kalsanghra and Shyam Bhawarlal Sahu. At present she is in the custody of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad till November 3. (ANI)
