Former champion Salwan Boys School will spearhead Delhi’s challenge against seven other champion schools from across the country in the Boost Cricket Cup Inter-City Challenge cricket tournament for boys’ under-17 category starting from April 9 in Mumbai.
The event is being organised by Procam International in the city from April 9 to 14. The winners and the runners up of the Boost Cricket Cup Inter-City Challenge will walk away with the cash prizes of Rs 24,000 and 15,000 respectively alongwith attractive trophies.
The other teams in the fray are Vivekanand Intl. School (Mumbai), Presidency School (Bangalore), Neelambal Subramaniam HSS (Salem), St. Johns Jr. College (Hyderabad), Vidyakunj High School (Baroda), DAV Chandigarh (Punjab) and a school from the Chennai Centre that will be named after.
The eight champion schools, which have been divided into two pools, have been finalised from the Intra-City tournaments held across 18 cities in past months. The tournament will be played on a league–cum-knockout basis with top two teams from each pool will make it to the cross semi-finals.
The final will be played on April 14 at the Police Gymkhana ground.
In addition, 20 players will be selected for a seven-day Coaching Clinic, to be conducted by former international Test cricketers Mohinder Amarnath and Surinder Khanna and physio Dr. Ejaz Asahi. The week-long coaching clinic will be held at the MCA Ground, Bandra Kurla Complex from April 15 to 21.
Out of this bunch of 20 talented cricketers, five 'Ratnas' will be identified and rewarded with Rs 20,000 each besides kit bags and cricket kitting from Nike.

Pool A: Salwan Boys (Delhi), School from Chennai, St' John's Church Jr. College, Hyderabad and Vidyakunj High School (Baroda).
Pool B: Swami Vivekanand Intl. School (Mumbai), DAV (Chandigarh), Presidency School (Bangalore) and Neelambai Subramaniam HSS (Salem).
