The reports of brutal clashes between security forces of China and Tibetan protesters in its capital Lhasa have sent shock wave across the world. As per Chinese media reports at least 10 people are confirmed dead.
The demonstration took an ugly turn on Friday after hundreds of Buddhist monks were ruthlessly attacked by security forces while protesting against Beijing's rule in Tibet, in one of the biggest and most severe demonstrations against Chinese rule, in almost 20 years.
Tibetan’s protesters have been protesting against Chinese control over Tibet since March 10, reportedly many of the protesters have been detained for the same. Tibetan communities across the world are now accusing China of using Beijing Olympics as a tool to legitimise its claim over Tibet.
China sees the protest as a bid to foil the preparation ahead of Beijing Olympics but the use of force on the Protestants has been condemned across the world.
United Nation High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour has shown her concern over the mounting tensions between anti-Chinese protesters and security forces in Tibet Autonomous region.
She stated that Chinese authorities should allow the demonstration in the light of their right of freedom of expression and assembly and emphasised that the authorities in China while following international standards should ensure that the detainee are not ill-treated.
Also US House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi will be in Dharamsala to share her support and deep concern to the people of Tibet and their cause.
She damned Chinese authorities who used force to crash the protesters as disgraceful and asked the government to immediately provide information regarding the whereabouts of the detained monks.
While George Bush called on China to enter in a dialogue with the spiritual leader Dalai Lama while asking China to give respect to the multi ethnic society.
The Dalai Lama casted off the allegation made by Chinese government of inciting the protesters but asked to stop using force to subdue the protests.
The protesters were demonstrating against Chinese occupation in Tibet on March 10 anniversary of failed Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule in 1959.
The sixty-year rule of China over Tibet is now in news and Chinese authority blames the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama of setting up the unrest. Anti-Chinese demonstration are also observed by Pro-Tibetan in different parts across the world including ‘Dharmshala’ in North India, which is now the base of Dalai Lama.
