Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan one of the owners of eight Indian Premier League teams, Kolkata Knight Riders revealed his team’s bong mantra Korbo, Lorbo & Jeetbo for the upcoming IPL while formally unveiling the name, attire, logo and mascot of his franchise team along with the team coach John Buchanan and skipper Sourav Ganguly at a glitzy function here on Tuesday.
“Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo” which means work, fight and win is the team’s catchphrase while ‘Hoog Lee’ a Royal Bengal tiger is the mascot. The Golden Helmet is the team logo, which was also presented to each present member of the team at the launch ceremony
The team’s official attire consists black and gold combination as black symbolises goddess ‘Maa Kali’ while gold symbolises the team’s goal to reach at the pinnacle. The slogan of the team was composed and sung by noted composer and singer Vishal Shekar while Reebok and Manish Malhotra designed the team’s kit and formal clothing.
The validation behind the team’s attire is the team’s self-belief, “We are here to win the battle of life.” Shahrukh said. The team’s name was finalised by keeping the youth in mind. “It should attract kids and moreover you have to play cricket like football in Kolkata,” added Shahrukh.
Red Chilies Entertainment, the franchisee of the Kolkata team, partners Jay Mehta, his wife and actress Juhi Chawla and the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Prasun Mukherjee were also present on the occasion.
Four domestic players, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Wriddiman Saha, Sourasish Lahiri and Rohan Banerjee were also present at the launch. Shahrukh also gave his words that he will be in Kolkata for all the seven home games that the Knight Riders will play at the Eden Gardens.
On the contentious ticket issue, Shah Rukh gave an assurance that his company will not only work out the ticket-sharing formula amicably but also try to cost them low so that even common people can endorse it to enjoy the mega-event.
