Sirsa (Haryana), Oct 10 (IANS) Haryana will import soil fungus from other countries to increase soil fertility in the state, it was announced here Friday.
Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) Vice Chancellor J.C. Katyal told farmers in this Haryana town, 300 km from Chandigarh, that efforts are being made to import soil fungus to increase the fertility of soil in the state.
Katyal said that sustainable cultivation was the need of the hour.
He suggested that farmers pay heed to issues like seed treatment, right quantity and timely use of fertilizers and water and timely advice regarding weather patterns.
Sirsa district in Haryana, which is adjoining Punjab's Bathinda district, is known for cotton cultivation.
