Bhopal, Jan 6 (ANI): Government Maharani Lakshamibai Kanya Postgraduate College in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh has introduced dress code for girls to prevent them from developing inferiority complex.
Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday, Principal of Government Maharani Lakshamibai Kanya Postgraduate College, Majula Sharma said that they introduced the uniform in the school as all the girls were not able to afford new clothes.
"The most important thing which I had observed is that an inferiority complex had developed among the girls. Girls from all the sections, including middle and higher-class study in our institution .We conducted a survey and it showed that most of the girls wanted an introduction of uniforms," said Sharma.
Many students were seen not adhering to the new dress code that was introduced and were seen in informal attire.
"In my opinion it is wrong to introduce a dress code as no dress code is followed in other colleges but this college has started a proper dress code of its own. Even the combination of the dress is not good too," said Ritu Arya, a college student.
Some of the students were in favour of the introduction of the uniform in the college as they believed that it would enhance their personality.
"It is important to follow dress code in every college as most of the students do not have new clothes, which she can wear every day. After wearing a uniform, the personality of the student enhances and it also shows that the student belongs to a college," said another college student Rakhi Gajbhiye. (ANI)
