Panchkula (Haryana), Jan 3 (ANI): Body of Alok Gupta, the Indian student killed in Canada on December 25, arrived at his hometown here on Tuesday.
Gupta was filling in for friends at a corner store, according to the Vancouver Observer newspaper, when he was killed in one of five consecutive daily shootings that have raised concerns about gun violence in the local community.
Gupta succumbed to his injury on arrival at the hospital.
Canadian Police have not made any arrests in connection with the case.
Angry at the lack of response of the police and the governments, Anup Gupta, a relative of the deceased, demanded justice in the case.
"Nobody has been arrested as yet. We want justice and want to know who killed our son. Neither the Indian Government, nor the Canadian Government has approached us. Whatever is happening is because of our efforts and nobody has helped us," he said.
Alok, who had moved to Canada in December 2010, was pursuing his higher studies in Finance Banking at Kwantlen University. (ANI)
