Washington, Jan 1 (ANI): Former House of Representatives speaker Newt Gingrich has said that he would consider former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate for the 2012 election.
"She (Palin) is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers, and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska," Gingrich said while answering a question from a caller in a 'tele-townhall' event.
Gingrich also suggested that Palin could occupy a 'very important Cabinet position' if he became President, and singled out her expertise in energy policy, The Daily Mail reports.
"She certainly would be on the list of one of the people we would consider," he concluded.
Palin had spoken positively about Gingrich, and his hints about picking her as his running mate could be an attempt to secure her endorsement ahead of the primaries season, the paper said. (ANI)
