Hyderabad, Dec 29 (ANI): Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal said that she was confident of meeting the massive expectations on her during the 2012 London Olympics.
At a function here yesterday, Nehwal said that focus on the game and a good run in upcoming tournaments would give her the confidence needed to tackle the big event's pressure.
"2012 is going to be a great year, the Olympics are coming. I just hope I win big matches, so that I get confidence. But there is still a lot of time for the Olympics, almost seven months and we will get a good two to three months before then to practice, to train in the areas I am weak at," said Saina.
Saina added that she had to strive to reach a state of mind that would help her take her game to perfection.
"It's all about the mind, something I have to do for my mind to relax, to just be focused on the game and not to really think about what people are thinking. But it will only happen when I keep away from all these things and just focus on my game," she added.
Currently ranked fourth in the world, Saina is the first Indian woman to reach the singles quarterfinal at the Olympics and the first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championships. (ANI)
