Islamabad, December 28(ANI): Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz has expressed his relief after making a come back in the Pakistan national team for the upcoming series against England in the United Arab Emirates.
His omission from the national team ever since the series against West India in May still remains a mystery as he looked in ominous form.
His name had also come up in the spot-fixing trial of former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt, Mohammed Aamir and Mohammed Asif in October this year.
When Riaz's name came in the spot-fixing trial, he was already with the rest of the Pakistan squad for the series against Sri Lanka in UAE but he didn't play a single game at that point and was bundled back home, The Daily Times reports.
Riaz has expressed gratitude towards Pakistan Cricket Board for keeping faith in him and selecting him again. He believes he is fully fit and is in good form to take on the English side.
"I am honored that the PCB and the selectors have kept their faith in me and supported me all the way. It was tough not being part of the squad for some time," Riaz told a website.
"I had a firm belief that things will be cleared; I don't want to get into the details. What I know is that I am ready for yet another stint. I have kept myself fit and in form while playing domestic cricket so I don't think I will face any difficulty," he added. (ANI)
