Cape Town, Dec 14(ANI): South African fast bowler Dale Steyn hopes to make life difficult out in the middle for the Sri Lankan batsmen during the three-Test series, which starts in Centurion on Thursday.
"With our bowlers bowling to their batsmen, who grow up in sub-continent conditions where the ball is hitting the bat from the stickers down, we want the ball to hit the bat in areas where they are unfamiliar," Sport24 quoted Steyn, as saying.
"A bit higher and maybe make it most uncomfortable for them," he added.
With four other fast bowlers in the South African squad -Morne Morkel, Vernon Philander, Jacques Kallis and Marchant de Lange- Steyn said his role in the team had not changed.
"I don't think my role has changed at all. I still go there and run in and try and strike," Steyn said. (ANI)
