Kolkata, Dec 12 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday paid homage to the victims, who died in the devastating fire that took place at the AMRI Hospital in Kolkata last week.
Banerjee was accompanied by her senior ministers, top police officials and kin of the deceased.
After placing the wreath at the memorial of the fire victims, she wrote a condolence message in the memorial book.
The tribute was paid at Rabindra Sarovar's Safari Park in South Kolkata.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the AMRI Hospital fire has risen to 93 with two more persons succumbing to their injuries yesterday.
The West Bengal Government has already cancelled the license of the super-specialty hospital, where people died from suffocation.
The unexpected fire ripped through the seven-storey complex when most of the victims were asleep.
This was the second fire at AMRI Hospital. In 2008, a fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit.
AMRI Hospital is part of a prominent chain of clinics in the city. (ANI)
