Jodhpur, Dec 12 (ANI): A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court here on Monday remanded former Rajasthan Minister Mahipal Maderna and Parasram Bishnoi, brother of Congress MLA from Luni, Malkhan Singh, in judicial custody till December 24 in connection with the Bhanwari Devi abduction case.
The CBI arrested Maderna, who was sacked from the Ashok Gehlot cabinet on October 16, along with Bishnoi on December 2 for their alleged involvement in the case.
The arrest came soon after the investigating agency filed its first chargesheet in the case.
The CBI has also arrested Bhanwari Devi's husband Amarchand on charges of not cooperating during the questioning.
Bhanwari, posted as an auxiliary nurse midwife at a sub- centre in Jaliwada village went missing on September 1 after a CD allegedly showing Maderna in a compromising position with her had come to light.
Her husband, Amarchand, has alleged she was abducted at the behest of Maderna and his associates.
59-year-old Maderna has so far denied the charges. (ANI)
