Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari's Tuesday visit to Dubai has sparked some rumours in the media in which it is reportedly claiming that Pak President may resign from his post on account of his "ill health".
Pakistan President on Tuesday evening flied to Dubai for reportedly meeting to his family and some routine medical health check up, but according to a US Magazine 'The Cable' - blog of Foreign Policy magazine - has stated that according to unnamed officials from the Obama Administration, 'it is growing expectations inside the US Government that Zardari may be on the way out.'
'The noose was getting tighter. It was only a matter of time,' the official said.
Zardari's Dubai visit came under speculation after being exposed to 'memogate' scandal that has forced the Pakistani ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani to resign.
The Magazine stated that Zardari had a 'minor heart attack' on Monday night. He visited to Dubai with his physician and limited personal staff via air ambulance for medical check ups, where a team of US doctors and UK might examine him.
He may also go for angioplasty on Wednesday, the Cable stated.
Countering this claim, Zardari's personal physician Col. Salman has denied the speculation of leaving the 'President Post' quoting 'just as a rumour' Salman said, "He was on the routine check up of his previously diagnosed cardiovascular condition."
"He will return to Pakistan soon", he added.
Pakistan's minister in charge of human rights Mustafa Khokhar has officially stated that there was no question of any resignation.
"He had a minor heart attack on Tuesday. He flew to Dubai where he had an angioplasty. He's in good health now. He will come back tomorrow," Khokhar informed to media.
Zardari was under tremendous pressure since the 'memogate' scandal emerged. According to media reports, Zardari close aide Hussain Haqqani has allegedly sent a memo to a top American Military official reportedly asking US's military's help to limit Pakistani's military power.
