Tehran, Nov 14 (ANI): Iranian intelligence authorities have arrested an individual who had been secretly working for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Persian TV channel.
Hassan Fathi has been arrested on charges of spreading lies about Iran and attempting to manipulate public opinion, Xinhua reports.
Iranian authorities had earlier arrested six BBC's Persian language service employees for distributing photos, videos and information promoting a negative image of the country.
Iran's intelligence ministry has described the BBC as an anti-Iranian institution, and ordered citizens against working in the channel.
The BBC's Persian TV channel, which provides services eight hours daily, was launched in January. (ANI)
