Addu City (Maldives), Nov. 9 (ANI): Asserting that there are some positive signs in the dialogue process that has begun between the two Asian neighbours, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani is looking forward to his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Responding to a question on what will be the key issues that will be discussed during the meeting between Indian Prime Minister and his Pakistani counterpart, Bashir said: "I agree that any Pakistan India Summit is important. The Prime Minister of Pakistan looks forward to his meeting tomorrow with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh."
"I think the key thing here is to be able to look ahead, sustain the process of engagement in a meaningful manner. ..... we are already seeing that there are good signs in some areas. So, enormous opportunities for the two leaders to survey the horizon," he added.
Manmohan Singh will be meeting Yusuf Raza Gilani on the margins of the 17th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit on Thursday.
The talks between the two leaders assume importance, as the meeting would be a follow up of their last interaction in Thimphu, Bhutan.
Relations between the two Asian neighbours hit rock bottom in the wake of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Around 166 people were killed in the 2008 Mumbai attacks by militants from the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), an extremist outfit.
