New Delhi, Nov. 9 (ANI): Stating that the views of the Centre keep on changing with regard to Pakistan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said the government should build one view on its relationship with Islamabad.
"There is no need to comment on what Krishna (External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna) says. The views of the government keep on changing with regard to Pakistan. At times they suspend all talks then later they go to Sharm el-Sheikh and begin the talks under some pressure. At times they said that infiltration is going on from the Pakistani side and at times they say that there is a very cordial relationship with Pakistan," said BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain.
"The government should build one view on Pakistan and China in the country. It is a very sensitive issue. People of the country are in favour of a good relationship developing with Pakistan. But people of the country also want Pakistan to forge a good relationship with India," he added.
External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna earlier in the day said the dialogue process with Pakistan is a continuous process.
Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is meeting his Pakistani counterpart Yusuf Raza Gilani on Gan Island in Maldives on Thursday on the margins of the 17th SAARC summit.
The talks between the two leaders assume importance, as the meeting would be a follow up of their last interaction in Thimphu, Bhutan.
Relations between the two Asian neighbours hit rock bottom in the wake of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Around 166 people were killed in the 2008 Mumbai attacks by militants from the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), an extremist outfit. (ANI)
