Kathmandu, Nov 8 (ANI): Nepal's cabinet has been expanded before Prime Minister Babu Ram Bhattarai leaves for Maldives to attend the 17th South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) Summit scheduled to be held on November 10.
Xinhua quoted Ram Rijhan Yadav, Press Advisor to the Prime Minister, as saying that the new cabinet has nominated ministers to fill the post for peace and reconstruction, tourism and civil aviation, education, science and technology, land reforms and general administration, labor and transport management.
"The new cabinet expansion has seven ministers," Yadav said.
Six ministers belong to the Unified Communist Party of Nepal- Maoists (UCPN-M) and one minister from Nepal Sadhbhawana Party Anandidevi.
The list of the new ministers inducted in the new cabinet are: Dinanath Sharma (UCPN-M), Minister for Education, Lokendra Bista (UCPN-M), Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Satya Pahadi (UCPN-M), Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Kalpana Dhamala (UCPN-M), Minister for Science and Technology Bhim Prasad Gautam (UCPN-M), Minister for Land Reforms Ram Kumar Yadav (UCPN-M), Minister for General Administration Sarita Giri (Sadbhawana Party-A), Minister for Labour and Transport Management.
According to Yadav, the name for defence minister is yet to be finalized.
Now the cabinet is including 37 ministers and state ministers in total. (ANI)
