Bhagalpur, Nov 4 (ANI): Reacting to the latest hike in petroleum prices, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain has said the Congress party is no longer with the common man
Alleging that the Congress party had done nothing for the commoners, Hussain said that the ruling party's hands had reached out to throttle the common man who was struggling with rising prices of commodities.
As for the hike in fuel prices, he said the BJP would vociferously protest against the ruling party in the upcoming winter session of the parliament
"Today, Congress has nothing to do with the common man. The same Congress party, which used to say its hands were in hand with the poor, has now reached at the throat of the common man," he added.
He further said that this economist Prime Minister has been a complete flop while enforcing steps of the government that should be taken to curb inflation in this country.
"The Winter Session of the Parliament is going to begin soon and looking at how the government is increasing prices, the Bharatiya Janata Party will vociferously protest and we will not sit in peace before the start of the new session," Hussain told the media here.
Earlier on Wednesday, Union Petroleum Minister Jaipal Reddy had said a ministerial panel would review prices of fuel sold at subsidised rates and this would be convened before the next parliament session scheduled to begin on November 22.
Reddy said revenue losses of India's oil marketing companies because of sales at subsidised rates are expected to hover at 1.3 trillion rupees in this fiscal year ending March 31, 2012. (ANI)
